- Installation and Updating -
1. Download the .exe file.
2. Double click it to unzip it wherever you want. Your firewall may complain about this. On Windows you can click 'additional details' and 'run anyway'.
3. Run the game with 'Game.exe'. No further installation required.
4. When downloading a new version, you can extract the new version to the same location as the old version (granted that both have the same name), and that should update your game. An alternative more safer way is to extract the new version to a different location and then copy-paste your save files to the new version. Remember that it's always a good idea to back up your save files before updating.

I have a question.  How many save slots will we have with the full release?

The engine seems to have 16 by default so that much. I mean it already has 16.

Thank you for answering.  Also will there be a way to replay the side quest about changing suits or will we need to just use the save slots?

Just like other old school RPGs you have to replay the game from the start to replay content. I am not sure how I would implement replayable side quests narratively or mechanically even. Making a backup save file right after saving Catherine from the bandits is probably the best save point since that's when the companion quests start.

(1 edit)

Thank you for answering and I think this game is great!!!

So I do got 2 questions

1. When did Erika see Catherine to talk about the 51% ownership

2. What happened after the guard came up behind Erika

(My guess some sort of mental or physiological conditioning)

The scene happens "on the previous evening", so about the same time when you get handsy with Elizabeth. We'll find out what exactly happened later.

Kinda the same question with the wand if I let Josh get killed does it effect the story in the future and is there any other way to get the magical circlet with the ice effect?

I think you can't. It's kind of a hidden/missable item. Granted I have very few of those in the game. The alternative choice gives you marks to use for purchasing other equipment or upgrading some.

When your in the cave on the way to Erwald and encounter the guy to help him when he puts the Runedust on the table you can walk on the Runedust and the table up in the northeast sector

Thanks for letting me know.

im kinda stuck and cant find azeren

Aerzen? It's a place you will visit eventually. Just follow the main quest.

You can track in the walkthrough where you are currently, or check your in-game journal if you're stuck https://itch.io/blog/793937/players-guide-and-walkthrough

(+1)

I'm currently replaying the game to see some other dialogues, and I found this small bug:

The tile behind the cabinet (The wooden thing to all the way on the right in the kitchen) in Abigail's house is walkable, I don't think that should be walkable since the rest of the items are on the wall.

Thanks for letting me know. There is probably something on the wall that is deemed walkable by the game and it overrides the non-walkable flag of the wall.

(+1)

I have found a small bug on the 3rd floor of the mine where you get ore, the doors leading to the fire Drake boss can be walked straight through before collecting all the orbs.

Thanks for letting me know~

I have a quick question, if I were to buy version 3.2 right now, would I also have to buy version 3.3 when it comes out or will I get the update for free?

(+1)

A purchase gets you all the upcoming versions for free.

(1 edit) (+3)

Honestly I feel like this isn't going to happen since it seems it's already planned out but makes me wonder if the player character will ever get a warg queen on them or as a suit

(+3)

I know there is other female suits but will the player character ever get his own female suit like for example when his suit finally comes back in im guessing v4 it comes in the wrong gender or is the only thing female suits will happen even post game be through the suit swapping story quests?

(+1)

Technically yes, technically no, the player will get one final suit in v4 but I'm not sure if it falls under that specific definition.

(+1)

I have a question will the player character had a side quest or something in which you'll be able to switch suits with Erika?

(+1)

Likely not because she is not a party member, thou the idea is nice.

(+1)

I found a sprite bug when you talk to Abigail and she tells you about the story, if you recruited Natasha before listening the Natasha sprite replaces the Abigail sprite.

(+1)

The sprite management is a bit wonky when it comes to the flashbacks, but you must have recruited Natasha at the very earliest possible. I think I know how to fix that, but I suggest playing the flashback without Natasha if possible.

(1 edit)

Ok I'll do it like that the next run

(+2)

Any Chance on final release, (post game) having a way to swap between suits Freely?

(+4)

There might or might not be story related factors that don't necessarily lean into that idea. But I'm not against the idea itself.

(+1)

It would be great to just swap suits for fun but I can only imagine how difficult it can be for those so just do whatever you think is best I already love this project either way!!

Is there other colors of wargs than black and yellow and brown or is it just those 3

(+2)

Likely just those 3.

Can I say that it would be awesome to have a white warg like Remi

(1 edit)

The game slows down immensely when I enter a building for a few seconds when it worked just fine before idk if it's a bug or just my pc

(+1)

Most likely PC related. I have had issues where the game starts up super slowly randomly but that usually doesn't carry into the gameplay.

Well let's start asking questions about the game again.

although first I will say that a couple of my theories were confirmed. which I am of course very happy about.

1 Will there be white wargs in the game?

2 will there be more futanari characters in the future? (I just don't like them)

3 Will they tell us how the outbreak occurred?

4 who was patient zero?

5 Are the wargs artificially bred?

6 Are wargs some kind of bio weapon?

7 so pay attention to the spoiler below.

Can Tabitha be cured? What about her wounds from the fire? (But I don't know if they have runes for healing)

8 What will happen if two warg queens clash in battle? Well, I mean that one is wild and the second, let’s say Abigail (or whatever her name is correctly).

Аnd, of course, if the story is about my questions, then you can ignore them, just like last time.

thank you in advance Monsieur Vanron.

That's a lot of bit too specific questions so I'll just state that maybe some will be answered in time, some probably won't, we'll see.

Okay doki I got you. Thanks anyway monsieur Vanron.

Request to make translation packages for other languages, such as Chinese, Japanese, etc., I need Chinese! Thanks, request!

(1 edit)

I saw your painting "How to Summan a Succubus", the plot is very good, I like it very much, I saw that the comment area said that you are making a game, I looked for it, and bought it, but there is no Chinese, I can't understand, I am very sad, ask for a Chinese translation. And urge to change that comic.,Thank you.。

I use translation software to translate Chinese to English, please forgive me if the tone or sentences are not smooth

(+2)

Thank you for showing interest in the game. I'm not against having a chinese patch or a japanese patch, but I have no experience how translating an RPG Maker game works. My japanese skills are pretty basic and I do not know any chinese, so I would have to pay someone to translate this. Currently my priority is to finish the english version.

Would you ever make a sequel or a spin off of this game and if you ever made a RPG Maker MZ version of risk of infection how would it be different than the original?

I don't know. Making a game is so much work that I'd think twice before starting a new project after this one.

Will V4 still be the last one?

Yes. I will have more info about it once I release the Quinn & Rose quest patch in a couple of months.

Found a bug: After finishing the part of the quest in Erwald, while trying to TP back to Lumina, it auto triggered a new part of the story. And after some dialogue, the game is frozen.

This might be a rare occurrence, since after restarting the game, it worked fine.

(3 edits)

I did test that part quite a lot, and if it runs after restart that sounds like a random accident. I'll double check the scene tomorrow and see if anyone else has had issues with it.

EDIT: Did you catch when exactly the freeze happened? I have a theory that Catherine entering the scene with her guards might cause a move route freeze if she and the guards somehow "step" on each other causing a blocked path. Never happened to me, but technically possible if your game happens to lag right then.

(2 edits)

Okay, either way, great work on V3.0, from what I have played so far, it's looking great!

Edit: Also, the freeze happened after she tells the player to call her by her full name, the dialogue box disappeared and I was unable to move.

Thanks for the info~

At what date is version 3 going to be released ?

(+4)

During February. I haven't decided on a date yet. I'll put out a note about a week before.

By the way, I wanted to ask if there will be a release on Steam? I would just buy the game not a gift.

No, at least not anytime soon. I could consider a Steam release if I get the game ported to RPG Maker MZ at some point in the future.

If that happens does that mean we need to buy it again or do we get something out of this?

I think Itch IO offers some sort or workaround where the keys here can be used on external platforms, or you get a completely new key, but I am not sure.

As long as we can still install the game as a local file id love that

(1 edit)

So at what date will we get V3 ?

Vanron93 stated in the version 2.7 patch notes that a post with a status update on the progress of this game’s development is planned for New Year’s Eve. However, I do have to wonder if the banning of Vanron93’s Pixiv account after the publication of version 2.7 could interfere with that planned post or the development of this game.

(+2)

I'd currently put the initial release date in February. Hopefully in the first half, but it might slip to the latter.

As a side note: issues with my pixiv have no effect on this.

Will there be a setting so we can be naked and potentially a setting with pink nipples?

fluffy nipples are the author's style

(1 edit)

So i've been trying to find out how to get Erika's scene in the game but I can't figure it out, im thinking its connected to a quest but idk what quest it is, I'm currently stuck on the staff quest because I can't figure out the area. I really need help.

(+1)

Erika's scene is at the very beginning of the game after you join the Agency. She says she's off to drink and can be found at the local inn.

The staff cave is in the same area you fight the Warg bear boss. At the very south end.

(+2)

This is truly the game I’ve always dreamed of! I’ve been following your work for as long as I can remember, and seeing it finally come to life is absolutely amazing. The story is incredibly satisfying—I loved every moment of it. It’s so magical to witness a skinsuit/fursuit-related game released in my lifetime—seriously, I’m not kidding! Thank you for all your wonderful work. I’ll be eagerly awaiting the next patch!

On a side note, I did encounter a small issue with the Saint Perrine’s Staff quest. I found a cave along the road to Aerzen, but it didn’t contain the Staff of Saint Perrine. The only loot I found there was the Amulet of Magical Affinity. I’m wondering if there’s another cave in the area I need to search in order to complete the quest?

Overall, the gameplay was fantastic! I especially loved how, when you wear a new suit and talk to the main NPC, they don’t recognize you at first. Having to correct them each time is a really fun touch! In Lily’s quest, however, I think there’s a small opportunity for improvement. It might be helpful if you blocked the path leading to the right-side waterfall until after the slime escapes the house. I ended up going that way first and encountered the scene with the slime entering the cave before I actually found it in Lily’s basement. Triggering the cave scene only after the slime escapes the house might resolve this confusion. Aside from that, I didn’t run into any other issues.

Oh, and I’m hoping there might be a store or event where I can get the Maid Outfit (or other “cosplay” items)! It would be great if the player could bring it to the person with black hair’s warg (wink, wink), or maybe have her join in some fun outside of her warg form—just for a change of pace. (Right now it’s mostly fursuit-fursuit interactions—just joking, tee-hee)

Keep up the great work! If you ever feel down, just know that I’ll be one of the many people enthusiastically waiting for your next release!

(+2)

Thank you very much! It's nice to hear good things about my works since I have a very average opinion about everything I do myself :P

There is indeed another cave on the road to Aerzen, and it's on the map where you fight the warg bear. You need the key from the priest to enter the cave fully.

That's a good pickup on the Lily's quest. I've had similar sequence break bugs in the game before, but sometimes they just fly under the radar so to say. Out of sight out of mind kind of thing. :3

And for purchasable cosplay items... I'd have to do it in same way as in Noel's quest where he wears the "religious ritual garb", but on a technical level it's not impossible to start a quest by buying X item in a store. (I might have something already planned regarding Rose and maids)

Is there a female Anti the main character can wear?

You will wear different suits across the story, both female and male ones.

Is there any currently in the game?

You start as a male, but can later wear Chelia, Lily and Noel as the game is now. Wearing them is tied to quest progress.

Will there be an option where you can ask people with Anti Warg to exchange suits or will it only be done through quests?

Through quests. It would become a nightmare to script otherwise on the engine.

The new quests are interesting. I liked Lily’s quest more. although Noel's endings are funny too. the things received for them are interesting. although I have a question: does the amulet work on the main character? Well, the one that increases the chance of a counterattack. or does it only work on Lily?

Yes. Every accessory slot item works on every character, even if the name or the ability makes no sense. You can make anyone counterattack, thou I would not advice it with low ATK characters. :3

I just gave the amulet to the main character because he is constantly getting hit because of the shield and attacks with taunt

Waiting for the patch :)

Same

Is there a Chinese translation available?

Not unfortunately. I can only do fluent english and finnish.
Some people have asked if they can make a fan translation, which I'm open to, but I have no idea if those projects ever came to anything.

If you choose to lie about the staff will it have a effect in the future I'm really tempted to lie about it to give to Tabitha and I can easily make the 400 mks but at the same time I want to know if it will effect my relationships in the future

It doesn't affect anything story-wise. You just need to choose between a nice staff and a pile of money. You CAN sell the staff to a store too, but you won't get as good of a price for it.

(1 edit)

I just have one question do you plan or have the idea of exchanging the suits between the characters as a gameplay mechanic or for the story?

Also excellent game I love it and your illustrations are so good I really love your series of comics

Short answer: yes. I will have a bunch of side quests for that. MC will get into some juicy situations as his coworkers.

That's all I needed to to know thanks.

So when v3 comes out will there be another image set with that one?

(+2)

The image set will be updated along the patch if the patch has new images.

(+1)

Vanny, i was wondering if you will make more games like this in the future? Really liking the game and hoping for a sequel, or a similar game that may feature more suits, like the succubus ones in your comics.

(1 edit) (+2)

Thanks, but this is a really big project mostly due to how much art goes into it. If I make another game I need to think how to streamline its design in a way that is not so dependent on pictures.

(+1)

I see, it must be time consuming, especially as you also have your succubus comics to focus on.

I would like to know if there will be a bestiary in the game?

There actually is a book in the Agency building which gives a short rundown of enemy types and their weaknesses.

I admit it could be presented in a better way.

(1 edit)

wow, i didn’t know the agency had something like that. Thank you.

I do got a question how many warg queens are there and will the player ever get infected by one or have one on them?

Spoiler territory. Unfortunately I cannot tell. :D

Ok fair enough but will the player ever get their own female warg and not wear someone else's?

Honestly it would give this game a lot of replayability but if you can't I understand maybe have a more sandbox or top down open world type mode for when your done with the story cause I love this game the issue is when the story is done what will have people play the game

(+3)

The game is a one-time purchase and a relatively inexpensive one at that, so I'm not that concerned about the game being infnitely playable. Just a nice story you can finish in a weekend or two. Replayability would ofc be a nice bonus, but in the end I'm serving a specific story here that's a concise package and X hours long.

There may be some end-game content available in the future once we get there. I like the idea of having a branching story for replayability, but that would broaden the developing scope vastly and add months of development time. For now I try to get the core story out and we'll see how the game looks then content-wise.

(+1)

Love the game (and your other work)! Your choices of dialogue have made me laugh out loud several times and have really made my day!

However, because of how my brain works, I've found myself with some rather tricky lore questions, many of which are pretty far from relevant to the events of the game itself. As much as I know this is "funny living fursuit RPG" I can't help myself so here goes nothing.

1. You explicitly stated that the Empire's war with the Pentarchy had devolved into "trench warfare" in one of the lore bits, and we see some the technologies that were created because of it in game: the Flumen guards' flamethrowers and a reference to chlorine gas as a way to kill wargs. While there are conceivable ways to make both of these sorts of things with magic/fantasy alchemy, the issue of how a WW1 style trench war came to be in a fantasy setting interests me. You've addressed some parts of that by making large empires with seemingly large bureaucracies to handle the resource drain and management of such a conflict, and you have provided in game reference to the fact that much of the area's population has been affected by the draft of men to the frontlines. The issue comes in when examining trench warfare as it happened WW1, where it evolved due to an increase in lethality and range of weapons while the mobility of soldiers did not improve, leaving forces vulnerable unless they were to dig in and fortify. Given that the primary weapons of the game are medieval in nature, I am led to conclude that this means that magic (including rune augmented weapons) has replaced the improvements in firearms and cannons that enabled WW1 and am curious as to whether or not this is assumption is correct.

2. If a warg were to infect a person missing a body part, would it replace it (i.e. a person missing a hand is infected, does the warg only generate the one hand or does it create a replacement for the missing one)? If the answer is no, how would a person who was missing a limb putting on an anti-warg generated off someone who had all their parts work? If the answer to either of these questions is that the warg does replace the missing part, how far does that ability stretch? Can it only replace extremities, or can it replace things like eyes? Given that movement still seems to be controlled by the human body under the warg, I'm assuming it couldn't fix something like paralysis, but I include it for the sake of completing the thought.

3. (This one's a much smaller question, I promise) It seems as though the Empire has pulled much of its forces out of the frontier, with the Lamina Pass guards being the only of their forces left. However, there are still an awful lot of guards around both Flumen and Rehling. Were the church and the Countess granted exceptions to the draft to maintain their security forces, or have they been forced to recruit from what was left behind after the draft?

(+1)

Thanks! What a bunch of excellent lore related questions. :3

I won't go too much into detail, but I can comment on some aspects of the bigger picture.
"The trench warfare" is not necessary a spitting image of our WW1. It mainly emphasizes how the war has gotten completely stuck (thou trenches are likely involved). This is why the area the game takes place in, the Frontier, is largely neglected by de facto governing power, and running the area has fallen mostly into the hands of local nobles and the church. There's no doubt lethal weapons are used in the war, both rune-based and conventional, and yes, mages and rune weapons fill many conventional military roles. Chemistry and physics have evolved to a point, but much of it has likely evolved hand-in-hand with magic. While flamethrowers exist, we do not know what they shoot out for example. Gas warfare is mentioned, but how they produce chemicals for it is unclear.
The combat in the Frontier is medieval largely due to the area being, well, a frontier and under quarantine. Due to the evident lack of guns in the frontier it's correct to assume that they do not exist in the form that is familiar to us, or they are such a new invention that most people in the Frontier do not even know they exist.
The guards seen in the game are personal hires for whoever is running the area (usually Catherine). Everyone is having very bad time generally, so the quick and easy solution is to just hire a lot of guards until the root issues can be solved. The society is more or less circling the drain, though I admit it could be better indicated in the game.

About the wargs' abilities: they do not replace body parts. While they can plug wounds and can even fortify broken bones to some extend, at some point the host is just done for (warg queens MAY be an exception to this).
If a person with no arms puts on a warg with arms in place, the warg would either morph to match its host on that part, or fill the arms with its goo to make it appear it has arms, but they would not be functional, or they would be very weak. But a complete limb replacement - probably not possible. If the host takes a grievous injury like a dismemberment, the warg may separate from its host willingly and find a new healthier host.
When it comes to eyes and ears it may be different. The wargs *technically* form working eyes and ears on their host, so if the host's brain can interpret sight and hearing signals, they should be able to see or hear at least somewhat even when they normally could not. I mean wargs carry over fully functioning genitals too, so why not eyes?

Hope this clear things. Yea I haven't thought the war aspect much. It's mainly there to justify why the Frontier is so neglected and there's really nobody properly in charge. The empire would likely solve the warg issue immediately if it was in full strength and stable, so war it is.

(1 edit) (+1)

Thank you for your prompt and detailed responses! I am a worldbuilder, amateur historian, and writer so I tend to think about lore stuff a lot (to the detriment of ever finishing any story I attempt to write).

I look forward to seeing what you add to this game in the future and any other projects you're working on!

(1 edit)

I really liked your game and I look forward to the next content update
