Week 1 Summary and Future Plans
Hello!
Risk of Infection has been out one week now! Thank you everyone who downloaded it, played it, and thank you all who donated! Thank you all who provided feedback and pointed out bugs! With over 3000 downloads the game has exceeded all my expectations~
I am actively working to continue the story, and I aim to finish the game within 1-1½ years. Version 2.0 will drop hopefully in July since I'm on vacation then. After that we'll see how versions 3 and 4 go, with 4 hopefully finishing the main storyline. V2.0 will also make the game paid content, but with a modest price tag of 2.99$. V1.x will remain as a free playable demo, so nobody will lose anything.
I have a lot of challenges to overcome in the development. My online presence is mainly focused on drawing suiting art. I have no skills composing music for example, and I'm not much of a writer. Especially the sex scenes may be a bit short for many people's liking, but I'll try to pad out the upcoming ones a bit. The game engine itself provides a fair share of headache regarding combat variety and event processing (and no, it's not any better with later versions). I've received many good ideas what to add to the combat, but most of it is difficult or right out impossible to implement. Balancing the combat is also a challenge with many players most likely finding the fights a bit too easy currently. I aim to add more enemy variety and ramp up the difficulty in later patches, and the party will eventually have a healer character which warrants the enemies to be bit harder at that point.
I originally started making Risk of Infection in May 2019 (back then called just 'the Goo Game'). VX Ace happened to be in sale and I picked it as the game engine. I felt it had all the elements necessary to make a simple living fursuit story, but in hindsight I should have probably chosen MV (as MZ wasn't out then). Unfortunately I missed the golden era of SNES RPGs being too young, but I have played many modern ones. Final Fantasy 7 and Morrowind are my all time favorites. My 2010's went by with Skyrim, Diablo3 and Guild Wars 2, and nowadays I mainly just play Genshin and Star Rail (no, I don't spend any money on those). As an honorable mention, while not being an RPG, Changed may have had some influence over this game's existence.
Being fully employed all this time the development was - and still is - on-and-off most of the time. I did not work on the game at all almost the entire year of 2022, and nearly abandoned the project. At some point in 2023 I decided to polish the beginning of the game and draw art for it. Around this point I also added combat mechanics, since originally I planned the game to be purely story-focused narrative smut-experience. Before 2023 the game was also more free-form allowing the player to choose their sex and the partner they wanted for each quest. In the end I had to scale the scope down due to the massive amount of art I would have needed to cover all the various sex scene permutations with each character. The result of all this is what I have up here today.
Thanks for reading and thanks for playing~

I do got a question that I feel like is important if I buy V2 when that comes out will V3 and V4 be free updates or will I have to buy those versions as well
Hope you'll make everything and success!!! Your game is good and deserve good attention!
Just one question: will saves from demo work with future release version?
Unless I have some unforeseen bug in v1, yes they will.
